The Mazda3 is a tried and true favorite with locals in Dandan and Koblerville, and this durable dynamo really goes the extra mile. But if you want your car to continue to give its best on the road, it’s important to choose the right Mazda3 oil type for your vehicle.
What oil does the Mazda3 take? Different trims and model years might take different oil types, so it’s a good idea to look at your owner’s manual for specifics. But if you’d like to take a deeper dive, we’ve done the research for you. Find out what type of oil would best suit your needs, and follow up with our service center if you have any questions.
Mazda recommends Mazda Genuine SAE 0W-20 for most models of the Mazda3. The exception is turbocharged configurations, which should use SAE 5W-30 with either an “SM” or “ILSAC” is on the label instead. Why the difference? Turbocharged engines run hotter, so they need a formulation that can withstand high temperatures without deteriorating. Regardless of your engine, you can feel free to use whatever additives with your Mazda3 oil type that you prefer. But, keep in mind that additives can thicken your oil – which can cause issues in very cold weather.
Whether you like to schedule your service with a professional or roll up your sleeves to do the work yourself, a Mazda3 oil changes should be performed every 7,500 miles or 12 months on average. Once again, check your owner’s manual for specifics or feel free to contact the service team at Triple J Saipan. Keep in mind that if you change your oil yourself, you’ll want to make sure you have a fresh pack of Mazda3 oil filters on hand. When you change your oil, replace your old oil filter with a new Mazda3 oil filter to maintain a cleaner engine. It makes a huge difference.
